Nearly 187K BARMM constituents vaccinated vs. Covid-19

COTABATO CITY: The Ministry of Health in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MOH-BARMM) has so far administered a total of 186,836 coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccine doses to its constituents.

Dr. Bashary Latiph, BARMM health minister, said Saturday of the total number, 96,361 have completed their two doses or are fully vaccinated while 90,475 have received their first doses.

“For this week alone, we had an average of 6,782 vaccinations daily in 193 established vaccination sites in the region,” he said.

The BARMM covers the cities of Cotabato, Lamitan, and Marawi; the provinces of Maguindanao, Lanao del Sur, Sulu, Basilan, and Tawi-Tawi; and the 63 villages in six towns of North Cotabato.

In Lanao del Sur, he said 32,093 have received their first doses of the vaccine while 28,508 have completed their two doses.

Maguindanao followed with 28,038 for the first doses, while 17,450 for the two doses; Sulu with 15,552 for the first doses and 21,938 for the full dose; Basilan with 7,856 first doses and 16,336 for full doses; and Tawi-Tawi with 6,933 first doses and 12,129 full doses.

The vaccination tally covers from March 6 to August 5, 2021, among the region’s A1, A2, and A3 priority groups.

Under the medical front-liners (A1) group, 26,477 received their initial jabs, while 20,232 had finished the two-dose vaccination requirement.

In the senior citizens (A2) category, 19,896 have been received their first jabs while 15,090 completed the two doses.

Meanwhile, in the persons with comorbidities (A3) group, 32,024 had their first doses, while 57,545 were fully vaccinated.

Latiph said their office is looking forward to starting the inoculation soon of the A4 or workers in essential industries.

The BARMM has a population of 4.9 million based on the 2020 census by the regional Philippine Statistics Authority.
