QUEZON CITY — The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority National Capital Region (TESDA-NCR) recently provided starter toolkits to scholars of Special Training for Employment Program (STEP).

Some 75 scholars benefited from the program after completing the training in Pastry Making Leading to Bread and Pastry Production NC II at PSAA International Academy, Inc. (PSAA).

Ms. Niña Connie Dodd, Officer-in-Charge of TESDA Manila, reminded the scholars to put into good use the knowledge they have acquired and the toolkits that they received especially in this time of pandemic.

Inaasahan kong kayo ay magiging inspirasyon sa ibang mga tao na nagnanais na makapagsanay at magkaroon ng pagkakakitaan para sa ikauunlad ng kanilang mga buhay,” said Dodd.

Manila Representative and Deputy Speaker Benny Abante said that the skills they have learned will help them in their future endeavors.

Paghahanda ito sa inyo sa next generation.”

Meanwhile, Ms. Royce Cruz, one of the scholars, also expressed her gratitude for the opportunity given to them by TESDA Manila, Rep. Benny Abante, and the PSAA.

Tunay na ang serbisyo ninyo ay walang pinipiling panahon,” said Cruz.

STEP is a community-based specialty training program that addresses the specific skills needs of the communities and promote employment, particularly through entrepreneurial, self-employment and service-oriented activities.

It aims to provide skills and training opportunities for the beneficiaries in the barangays/communities to make them employable and productive. Philippine Information Agency
