MARAWI CITY, Apr. 23–The Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM) once again pronounced that the road infrastructure inside the most affected area of the city will be the first to achieve its completion among all the ongoing projects while reiterating its assurance of on target rehabilitation of the siege-disrupted city.
This after Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Secretary and TFBM Chairperson Eduardo Del Rosario visited anew Marawi City Thursday, April 22 for a monthly site inspection to check on the progress of the ongoing projects.
“Kauna-unahan ay iyong road networks. Ang sabi sa atin ng contractor, matatapos by end of September,” said Del Rosario in an interview at the Grand Mosque.

“Iyon ang gusto naming matatapos agad ni Mayor para iyong mga residents na ready na magpatayo, hindi na sila makakasagabal sa pagpapatayo ng bahay kapag natapos na rin ang ating road networks,” he added.
[That is what we want to finish first with Mayor so that those residents who are already ready to build, there will not be a disturbance in the building of their houses if our road networks will already be finished.]
The infrastructure project being undertaken by the National Housing Authority (NHA) consist of three major road networks, the primary, secondary and tertiary roads. The primary road has now attained 53% accomplishment while the secondary and tertiary roads are now on its 56% completion.
Del Rosario bared that with the ongoing projects including the road networks, the rehabilitation has already hit more than 50% completion.
“When I was here last month, I said it was between 45 to 50 [percent] and based on the presentation yesterday and our inspection today, it is now between 55 to 60 percent,” he stated.
Meanwhile, City Mayor Majul Gandamra stressed that the local government also has its own contribution of ensuring on-track rehabilitation.
“Minimeeting ko po ang lahat ng mga contractors, even subcontractors, doon sa gitna ng reclaimed area at tinitingnan ko iyong mga ongoing projects. Kung mayroong mga medyo delays, iniinform natin sila na to double time iyong kanilang mga ginagawa. Iyon po ay isa sa mga nagbibigay sigla para magtrabaho sila ng puspusan,” he stated.

If there are some delays, we inform them to double time on what they are doing. That is one of the factors that motivate them to work really hard.] Philippine Information Agency
