In its continuing effort to improve the lives of the farmers on the ground, the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Nueva Vizcaya recently distributed farm machineries to  Kasibu Farmers Development Cooperative (Kafdeco) located in Poblacion, Kasibu in this province.

PARPO Dindi Tan giving her inspirational message during the turn-over ceremony.

Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II Dindi Tan, who led the ceremonial turn-over of the machinery, said the project aims to boost farmers’ household income by modernizing their farming practices by providing new farming equipment that would make these smallholder-farmers increase their agricultural productivity.

“Importante na maiparamdam natin sa mga tao sa baba, lalong-lalo na ang mga agrarian reform beneficiaries o ARBs at iba pang mga magsasaka na ang gobyerno ay nandirito para sa kanila, kahit pa may pandemya. Di natin sila iiwan because WE HEAL AS ONE!” Tan said.

Tan noted that the machinery provided to the ARB/Farmers Clusters who are members of the KAFDECO, is worth Php280,000 and is being implemented under the Linking Smallholder Farmers to Markets and Microfinance (LinKSFaRM) Program of the DAR-Nueva Vizcaya.

“The instruction of President Duterte and DAR Secretary John Castriciones is to bring the government down to the people. This is what we have been doing and we are glad that we can help change farmers lives on the ground,” Tan said. (dargovph)
