The Bureau of Pilgrimage and Endowment (BPE) of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) has scheduled to refund the mutawiff and vaccination fees to intending pilgrims for year 2020 who failed to perform the hajj due to the Coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), according to an NCMF official.
Malo B. Manonggiring, BPE acting chief of 2020 Hajj Pilgrimage Operations said in an advisory dated September 29, 2020, but posted on his Facebook account on Thursday, that the refund will be conducted from October 5 to 8, 2020, in its Iligan City satellite office.
“The NCMF-BPE is also reiterating that thesaid refund activity was earlier scheduled last September 7, 2020, but due to the IATF declaration putting Lanao del Sur including Marawi City under MECQ (Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine) effective on September 7, 2020, the refund was not implemeted,” said Manonggiring. Hence,it was moved to October 5 to 8.
He added that since MECQ has been extended until October 31, 2020, in Lanao del Sur and Marawi City, the venue of the refund will be in Iligan City which has been reverted back to the more relaxed General Community Quarantine (GCQ).
Manonggiring said the concern intending pilgrim or Jamaa as well as their group leader/sheik who opted to refund the Mutawiff and Vaccinations Fee are required to bring with them the original machine validated Deposit Slip from the bank showing their payments and to bring their valid Philippine passports for proper identification.
