Taraka LGU intensifies search for missing boy due to river floods



The boy who was swept away by flash floods on Sunday noontime in the municipality of Taraka in Lanao del Sur is still missing as of posting and responders have intensified their search and rescue operation for the third day.

Waters flowing in the Taraka River had overflowed due to continued pouring of heavy rains during the weekend. It is said the flood had damaged crops and other agricultural products.

Responders have intensified for the third day after the floods have subsided down their search and operation for the missing boy.

On Tuesday, the respondents composed of personnel from the municipal disaster risk and reduction management office (MDRRMO), Barangay local government units (BLGUs), and the Philippine National Police (PNP) continued the operation.

Among BLGUs who joined the SR operation were Barangays Gapao Balindong, Lumasa, Pindolonan, Buadi Amunud, Pitakus, and Suphangan.

The family of the missing boy also joined in the search and rescue operation. (With report from FB)
