ZAMBOANGA CITY: The City Health Office (CHO) said this city has registered a recovery rate of 45 percent or 210 recovered patients from the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
Dr. Dulce Amor Miravite, CHO chief, said in a virtual press conference late Friday the recovery rate is based on the total 471 Covid-19 cases here.
Miravite said the city also recorded a 3-percent mortality rate, which translates to 15 deaths.
As if Thursday, Miravite said the city logged six new cases, raising the active cases to 246.
Of the active cases, 163 are from the community, 54 locally stranded individuals, seven returning overseas Filipinos, and 22 are from the Zamboanga City Reformatory Center.
Meanwhile, Miravite said that 32 of the 471 Covid-19 cases are front-liners consisting of health care workers and from other sectors, including security forces.
She said some of the front-liners are stressed and getting sick already “with four months of Covid-19 response.”
At least 33 of the city’s 98 barangays have recorded cases of Covid-19, she said, identifying the areas with high cases as Barangays Sto. Niño, 31; San Jose Gusu 24; Calarian, 21; Sta. Maria, 12; Camino Nuevo and Campo Islam, 11; and Mampang, nine.
