COTABATO CITY: Soccsksargen health officials on Friday night reported the highest single-day recovery list so far of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) patients in the region.

Arjohn Gangoso, speaking for the Department of Health (DOH) 12 (Soccsksargen), said a nine-year-old girl from Cotabato City was among the 12 persons who were discharged from various Covid-19 isolation facilities – six from South Cotabato province, four from Cotabato City, and two from Sultan Kudarat province.

“The latest recovery percentage of Covid-19 in Soccsksargen is at 44 percent,” Gangoso said, referring to their July 24 virus situation update.

The DOH-12 also reported three new Covid-19 cases but one of them, Patient 198, has died.

Of the three, two locally stranded individuals (LSIs) were from General Santos City who had a travel history to Manila while the third was also an LSI from Sultan Kudarat.

Patient 198, a 57-year-old woman, died last July 23 due to chronic kidney disease.

To date, Soccsksargen has a total of 198 confirmed Covid-19 cases.

Sarangani has the highest number of patients with 45, followed by South Cotabato (39), Sultan Kudarat (33), North Cotabato (33), Cotabato City (25), and General Santos City (23).

In the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, five new cases were reported on Friday, raising the total number of Covid-19 patients across the region to 416.

Of the 416 patients, 280 remained in various isolation facilities in the region while 128 have recovered.

Lanao del Sur and Marawi City are still on top with the most number of confirmed patients at 170, followed by Basilan with 78, and Maguindanao with 37.
