COTABATO CITY: The Ministry of Health in the Bangsamoro Region in Muslim Mindanao (MOH-BARMM) reported Thursday a new recovery rate in the treatment of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) patients in the region.
Dr. Saffrullah Dipatuan, BARMM health minister, said the recovery rate for the recent 411 confirmed cases was placed at 31 percent, about 3 percent higher as against the previous report.
“We hope to maintain the momentum of Covid-19 recovery of patients,” Dipatuan said.
As of Thursday, MOH-BARMM recorded four new cases in the region. There are also 11 probable cases and 442 suspected cases.
Of the 411 confirmed cases, 168 were from Lanao del Sur and Marawi City or 41 percent, 76 from Basilan at Lamitan, and 36 in Maguindanao.
Eight confirmed patients have died since the start of Covid-19 monitoring in the region on March 18.
Of the total Covid-19 patients in the region, 275 patients are currently admitted to various isolation facilities in the region and 128 have recovered.
Dipatuan reiterated the MOH call for everyone to strictly observe minimum health protocols – the use of face masks, observance of physical distancing, and regular washing of hands with soap — to help prevent local transmission.
