MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur – Lanao del Sur Electric Cooperative (Lasureco) has started providing of electricity to the most affected areas (MAA) or Ground Zero (GZ) after more than three years since it was devastated by the 2017 Marawi Siege laid on the city by the Maute group and allied terrorists.

Dr. Nordjiana Dipatuan Ducol, Lasureco general manager, led on the lighting ceremony on Wednesday, July 15, led the switching on to provide electricity to Sectos 1 and 2 of Barangay Totali which was attended by Marawi City Mayor Majul U. Gandamra, and members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod.

It was also graced by Secretary Eduardo del Rosario of Human Settlements and Urban Development of the Philippines and concurrent chairperson of Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM) tasked for the rehabilitation of the siege Marawi.

It was also attended BGen. Nestor Abando of the Army’s 55th Engineer Brigade. Abando provided security to the occasion.
Officials of Barangay Tolali led by Chairman Moamer U. Pantao expressed gratitude to the government officials for their good programs among them is the lighting of Tolali whose residents have returned after compluing government requirements.
General Manager Dipatuan urged consumers to support the Task Force Bangon Marawi and the government by paying their electricity consumption religiously.
