MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur: The local government of the Islamic city of Marawi has reiterated the prohibition of any form of mass gatherings within school premises in the city amid the pandemic Coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
In his Memorandum No. 30 series of 2020 dated June 23, 2020, City Mayor Majul U. Gandamra enjoined all the public and private academic institutions from elementary to tertiary levels as well as madrasahs to prohibit any form of mass gatherings within school premises, which includes but not limited to face-to-face enrollment, graduation rites, Parents-Teachers Meetings, among others.
“The resumption of classes be it face-to-face, online or any other related modes of education should be based on the resolution released by the national Interagency Task Force for Emerging Infectious Diseases, Department of Education, Commission on Higheer education and other related competent authorities,” Gandamra said.
“Your acquiesance to this order wil certainly help curb the spread of the dreaded (Covid-19 virus. Any violation or noncompliance therewith may subject the academic institution sanctions such as penalty among others,” he added.
