Stranded MSU students return home to Mindanao islands

MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur: Stranded students of Mindanao State University (MSU) are returning home on Saturday to Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Basilan, and Zamboanga del Sur, a university official said.

Aliah Pacalna Cali-Pascan, an official from the Office of the System President, said in her FB account six of the 30 stranded students are from MSU Sulu who had their On-the-Job Training (OJTs) in MSU-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT). The rest are from MSU Marawi Main Campus.

She said the System President Habib Macaayong continues giving support to all campus-wide activities especially when students are involved.

“We thank the MSU Alumni Association through Regent Bobby Lim who gave 15 thousand pesos for the boat fare of students going to Sulu,” Aliah said.

They also thanked Chancellor Abdurahman Nagder for facilitating the Travel authority of students from Sulu, MSU-IIT Chancellor Sukarno Tanggol through VC Banawa for facilitating the travel authority of MSU Sulu students coming from Iligan, EVP Macabangkit Ati who instructed his staff to prepare for breakfast and pack lunch of students including the drivers of the bus, and all the Regents who support the endeavors of the System President.

Aliah also expressed their thanks to the following:

Member of Parliament Ras Mitmug of Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) who gave one thousand pesos each for the 30 students for their food and traveling expenses in transit while traveling.

Isabela Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin Hataman for monitoring her one resident student from Isabela, Basilan.

Mayor Hans A Bud for doing the same for his resident student from Maluso, Basilan.

PD Muksan of PNP Lanao del Sur and to City Director Pantaleon in giving COVID SHIELD Travel authority.

Dir. Labimombao A. D. Macabando for letting sir Alsi Iggo joined in the travel for he knows the route.

Dir. Sabdullah Macarambon for making sure that the bus is in condition to travel.

Jun Biston for making sure the travel authority is ready on time.

And to all members of MSU Crisis Management Committee to VP Rash Pax and Director Usman of Infirmary and Medical Services.
