MARAWI CITY: Mayor Majul Gandamra led the opening of the Sagonsongan Satellite Market on Wednesday to give opportunity to local merchants of agricultural products and basic commodities amidst the community quarantine due to the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

Gandamra said this is also aimed to bring the markets closer to the people so they can buy their needs in their midst instead of going to markets far from their area.
In the newly opened satellite market, food and essential goods sold here are fairly priced.

To maintain cleanliness and healthy surrounding, the United Nation Human Settlements Programme (UB-Habitat) put up water tanks, washing stations, soap and alcohols.

Aside from the city mayor, the opening ceremony was also graced by Provincial Director Mohammad Aquil A. Mamainte of Ministry of Trade, Investment and Tourism of Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MTIT-BARMM), TFBM field manager Felix Castro, UN-Habitat project manager Mr. Warren Ubongen, Councilor Alim Marangit and Sagonsongan barangay (village) officials and residents.
