MARAWI CITY: A Maranao educator has lauded the leadership of Mindanao State University (MSU) for his unwavering support and care to students of the state university who are stranded due to the community quarantine amidst the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).
Dr. Somerado “Sammy” Pandapatan, an official of the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education of Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MBHTE-BARMM) lauded and thanked MSU system president Habib Macaayong for his initiative in taking good care of stranded MSU students from the Caraga region in terms of food supplies and other essentials while on quarantine at the campus and in sending them back to their respective homes.
The stranded students are sent home on Saturday to Caraga region comprising the provinces of Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Dinagat, and the Cities of Butuan, Bayugan, Cabadbaran, San Francisco and Surigao.
Pandapatan, also a trustee of the Philippine Public School Teachers Association (PPSTA) also thanked PMS Director Aliah Pacalna Cali-Pascan and DSA Director Labimombao A. D. Macabando for “allowing me to join them in this endeavor” upon the request of Minister Mohagher M. Iqbal of the Bangsamoro government’s ministry of basic, higher and technical education.
Pandapatan wished the students the best of luck and happy journey back to their homes.
