Social amelioration aid released to Marawi beneficiaries

MARAWI CITY: The local government of the Islamic City of Marawi under the leadership of Mayor Majul U. Gandamra has started on Wednesday the releasing of the social amelioration program (SAP) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

The releasing was made through the City Social Welfare Development Office headed by Ms. Rismirah Y. Adap in coordination with the various government agencies like DSWD-12, MSSD-BARMM, the PNP, and the AFP.

It was done after weeks of validating those beneficiaries who deserve to be assisted with the amelioration fund.

According to a post in the official Facebook account of the city government of Marawi, beneficiaries from different barangays of the city received P5,000 each with vulnerable residents of Tongan-Tongan, Olowa Ambolong, Cadayonan 1, Pagayawan, Paridi at Dulay Proper as the first beneficiaries to receive.

Currently, the social amelioration financial payout to the needy continues in the city as a house-to-house checking of the city government validation team to ensure that those most in need are given financial assistance under this program.
