COTABATO CITY: The chief minister of the Bangsamoro government has designated a new officer-in-charge of its public Information arm to replace its executive director, according to a statement furnished this writer on Wednesday.

Interim Chief Minister Ahod ‘Al Haj Murad’ Ebrahim of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) has designated Ameen Andrew Alonto as the new Officer-in-Charge Executive Director of the BARMM’s Bureau of Public Information (BPI) effective on April 29, 2020 replacing Dr. Norodin Salam who will be assigned to another post.
On Wednesday, Salam turned over the leadership of the bureau to Alonto whom he also introduced to the BPI employees.
Prior to his designation as the new BPI acting chief, Alonto worked as an executive assistant at the Bangsamoro Government’s Office of the Cabinet Secretary.
He also served in the Bangsamoro Transition Commission (BTC) and the Regional Legislative Assembly (RLA) of the defunct-Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).
Alonto said he looks forward to work with the regional info group, and hopes to bring in his years of experience in the peace process and communication work in leading BPI.
Salam said that even if he’s about to take on a new role in the Bangsamoro Government, he will always be available to assist the office in whatever capacity.
“I pray to Allah for his [Alonto] success in leading the office. I believe he will do great in performing his new role as executive director of the information arm of BARMM—the BPI,” he added.
