MSU MAIN, Marawi City: The Mindanao State University (MSU) System has announced that there is no reported case of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the university.

In a statement on Sunday, MSU System president Habib W. Macaayong said there is no reported case of COVID-19 among the university officials, faculty members, employees and students.
Macaayong said the MSU student who was confined at the Amai Pakpak Medical Center (APMC) here last month was found negative of the virus. “His sickness was a simple flue and he got well and fine now,” he added.
Meanwhile, the MSU System president expressed his advance greetings on the occasion of Ramadan to his colleagues, friends and relatives on the occasion of Ramadan, Islam’s holy fasting month, which may start on April 24.
“Advance HAPPY RAMADAN KAREEM. We are passing through the test of Allah by means of this COVID 19. Thanks to Allah that we are fine,” he said.
Macaayong said MSU has ended its Second Semester of the academic year on Saturday, April 18, although the classes were already suspended since March 13, 2020.
“If we have the way, we would like to suggest to the national Interagency Task Force (IATF) and higher authority to allow us to continue coming to offices after April 30, 2020, even on skeletal forces approach, so that we can sustain efficiency and effectiveness in our operation,” he said.
He said, they will be continuously observing the requirements of wearing face masks, social distancing, use of disinfectants, and non-receiving of visitors. “After April 30,” he added, “we will continuously suspend our classes until further notice from higher authority.” (RSP)
