DAVAO CITY: The Davao City Chamber of Commerce and industry, Inc. (DCCCII) has warned the public against online scams as reports on the scam circulated here.

Reacting to reports alleging online scams circulating in online chat groups, DCCCII President John Tria said, “We have detected some online scams allegedly from banks and insurance companies as reported by some of our members, asking people to declare their bank account numbers and contact details or clicking on links that seem innocent.”
Tria said he would like to advise the public to be careful as these may enter their online bank accounts.
Tria made the warning as many local residents begin receiving their DOLE CAMP and social amelioration benefits, as well as cash support being given by private donors.
“I hope our government agencies will start investigating these things, as they are preying or taking advantage of our people,” he added.
In a related development, the chamber thanks its donors to its fund drive for frontliners, and thanked in particular Coca Cola for donating 30,000 cases of drinks distributed to various public and private hospitals in the Davao region. (DCCCII)
