ILIGAN CITY: The local government unit of Bacolod Kalawi in Lanao del Sur has assured its constituents that the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) Bayanihan Fund: Tulong Laban sa COVID-19 from the national government will be released to all who deserve it in the municipality.
Mayor Mayor Nora L. Dipatuan in a phone interview said, “There is absolutely no politicking here. All those who deserve the amelioration fund will receive it, which means the poorest of the poor, in accordance with the guidelines provided by the inter-agency task force and as emphasized by President Rodrigo R. Duterte.”
Dipatuan said they will discuss on Monday with representative of every line agency about the releasing of the fund which will be done with the line agency concerned, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
The lady mayor said, however, that beneficiaries of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Bacolod Kalawi of about 800 will not receive the amelioration fund since their 4Ps allowances will also be released to them with the DSWD with the Philippine National Police and the Armed Forces as security.
The LGU has also distributed relief goods in all households of the municipality with no house left unserved.
Together with the 26 barangay chairmen, Mayor Dipatuan personally led the distribution of the relief assistance from the 5 percent calamity fund. “Mahirap man o mayaman, lahat nabigyan (Poor or rich, all are given),” she added.
Dipatuan and her staff also led to assist the distribution of the food assistance extended by the provincial government headed by Governor Mamintal Alonto Adiong Jr. to the constituents of Bacolod Kalawi. “Likewise, everyone is served,” she said.
She urged her people to stay at home and not to worry because she will again distribute relief goods to them in the coming week. This is included in the 5 percent clamity fund and reiterated there is no politics here.
Dipatuan said the P1-Million promised them by the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) has not yet arrived.
She said, of this amount, P400,000 will be used for basic needs while the P600,000 will be for the frontliners like Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO), Rural Health Unit (RHU) and the PNP, to be used for their mobilization, protection and medicines against Covid-19.
As regards the Department of the Budget Management (DBM) grant from Senator Bong Go, as approved by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, Mayor Dipatuan said it has not yet arrived also.
“Once it arrives, it will be used for foods and medicines against the coronavirus disease through the RHU,” she said.
“I beg of you to stay at home for the welfare of our locality,” Dipatuan reiterated. (RSP)
